Have a PG-13 weekend!
We would like to thank Algebra and Geometry for inviting us to their wedding. We wish them nothing but love and matrimonial bliss for eternity!
I will offer 3 extra credit points to the FIRST student who answers AND thoroughly explains a problem correctly! The maximum # of extra credit points you can earn is 3 points. That means, once you've received extra credit for a problem, you can't do another one to get 6 extra credit points.
Also, once the problem has been confirmed (by me) that it has been correctly solved and explained, it is no longer eligible for extra credit. For example, if #30 has already been posted by someone, but you don't agree with his/her answer, post your solution/explanation. The first person may be wrong. Again, you won't know until I confirm. Please make sure your posts contain:
There are 34 questions in all and 53 students in all. That means all but 19 of you can receive extra credit. Don't procrastinate! The early bird gets the worm! Get your extra credit NOW! Good Luck!
P.S. don't forget that your center of mass triangle on cardstock with string is due tomorrow!!!!
#4.4 Slopes of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
Aim 1: to know and use the slopes of parallel lines to solve problems
Aim 2: to know and use the slopes of perpendicular lines to solve problems
You MUST post an answer AND explanation for credit!
Be sure to identify yourself by last name and which period you're in! Also, please label which section and problem # you are doing. For example, #4.4, #18:
There are 43 problems in all and 53 students between my 2 classes. For the ten of you who aren't able to post an answer, you will have make up your own problem and solution.
#4.2 Discovering Properties of parallel Lines
Aim 1: to use the properties of parallel lines to find the measurements of missing angles
Aim 2: to construct parallel lines using the AIA or AEA method
Find the Center of Gravity Activity (due Friday, Sept. 21, 2007):
Mack Daddy Construction
Aim: to use knowledge of constructions to discover which 3 centers (incenter, circumcenter, orthocenter, centroid) are collinear
#3.6
Aim: to use previous construction strategies to form geometric figures
Aim: to construct the perpendicular bisector of a line segment
#3.3
Aim 1: to construct a perpendicular through a point NOT on the line
Aim 2: to construct a perpendicular through a point ON the line
Have a PG-13 weekend!
Parent Letter verifying that (s)he assisted you in preparing for your vocabulary quiz by using the handy dandy flashcards that you created. The following is a sample letter:
Dear Ms. Chan,
This is to verify that (student name) and I did prepare for the vocabulary quiz by using the flashcards that (student name) created. In quizzing (student name), (s)he got 60 out of 61 correct (yes, I want you to grade yourselves and put the grade in this letter).
Sincerely,

Don't forget to review your true/false questions as well! You will have 5 of them on tomorrow's quiz as well as 5 problems similar to last night's homework where you should draw a picture to solve the problem.
Reminder:
1. don't forget your flash cards!
